Fun on the beach

The sun, surf and sand are naturally the top three attractions in Scheveningen. You can wander the 4 kilometre long beach from one beach pavilion to the next. Each has its own style and character. This wide variety is what makes Scheveningen beach so much fun and so exciting. The Zuiderstrand (southern beach) has been hit by surfing fever and the Noorderstrand (northern beach) has trendy beach pavilions where kite surfing is popular. Looking for some peace and quiet? Within 5 minutes walk away you will enter into the sand dunes (from the Harstenhoekweg) where you can walk and cycle to the nearest quiet beach.

Shopping

Seven days a week, 365 days a year, you can shop in the beautiful Palace Promenade. A covered seaside shopping centre! The shops are daily open from 10am to 10pm during the summer. In the Palace Promenade you will find a wide selection of fashion, bathing suits, home furnishings, design, delicatessen, books, gifts and much more. For grocery shopping, there is the Deli Palace. There is also an outdoor market on Stevinstraat every Thursday from 9am to 4:30pm.

Nature

Originally, The Hague was a city built on the dunes, which is why, just outside the city, one can enjoy the most wonderful scenery. The dunes are well worth a visit, especially if you like walking or making bicycle trips. The dunes at Kijkduin and Scheveningen are ideal for these type of leisure activities. The most well-known of the dune areas, however, is Meijendel, which stretches from The Hague to Wassenaar.
